How We Started
After 5 years in the food industry, we were dismayed by the staggering amount of plastic pollution it produced. This non-biodegradable waste contaminates the planet for millions of years to come. Spurred by the worsening climate crisis, we embarked on a 4-year quest to find alternative sustainable options.
Our mission: find eco-friendly materials that could replace plastics and polystyrene without sacrificing affordability or performance. We scoured the globe, investigating sustainable sources from revolutionary bioplastics to natural fibers. This journey ultimately led us to bagasse—a renewable, biodegradable resource.
WhaT is Bagasse?
Bagasse is the fibrous byproduct leftover after extracting sugarcane juice. This dried pulpy residue is surprisingly durable yet breaks down quickly through composting. Even better, bagasse production has a relatively low net carbon footprint as it uses leftover sugarcane biomass as fuel for the milling process itself.
Today, Perfect Pack has a decade of experience transforming bagasse into food packaging. We’ve harnessed this sustainable resource to create remarkably sturdy yet eco-conscious containers, bowls, plates, and more. Our proprietary manufacturing process minimizes energy and water usage while maximizing bagasse’s insulating properties to keep food fresh.
